w magazine SAYS:

"AS [SUSTAINABILITY IS] ONE OF THE MOST PRESSING TOPICS IN THE INDUSTRY, THERE'S A LOT OF GROUND TO COVER. WHETHER YOUR INTEREST IS FAIR TRADE, CIRCULARITY OR NATRUAL DYES, YOU'LL DISCOVER NEW INSIGHTS HERE."

Over more than 200 Episodes, our guests include supermodels (Amber Valletta, Lily Cole, Arizona Muse), economists like Jason Hickel and Raj Patel, activists like Tarana Burke and Rosario Dawson. From big-name runway stars like couturier Ronald van der Kemp, designer Roland Mouret and milliner Stephen Jones, to emerging designers from all over the world. We’ve chatted about circularity with Ellen MacArthur and William McDonough, looked at fair trade with Safia Minney, and the politics of thrifting with Bay Garnett. Pre-covid, we only recorded face to face. Many of our guests did their very first pod with us, and some have gone on to host their own shows they liked it so much.

We address big issues - the future of fashion, the fair treatment of garment workers, climate change, plastic pollution - but we do it with humour, vulnerability and warmth, which is why our audience continues to grow.

In 2019, we successfully crowdfunded Series 3. We've collaborated with Fashion Revolution, the Copenhagen Fashion Summit, WOMADelaide, the Sustainable Living Festival (Australia) and the UN's Ethical Fashion Initiative to produce our shows. We've even recorded inside the House of Lords in London (for an episode on modern slavery featuring Baroness Lola Young of Hornsey).

Series 5 was themed #sharethepodcastmic and featured guest hosts including Aja Barber, Aditi Mayer and Ayesha Barenblat.

NOW PLAYING Series 10.

BAZAAR UK SAYS:

"CLARE PRESS IS AN EXPERT ON BOTH FASHION AND THE ENVIRONMENT, & SKILFULLY ADDRESSES THE INTERSECTION BETWEEN THE TWO."

The Guardian UK says:

“You probably wouldn’t expect a fashion podcast to feature discussions about Australia’s bushfires and the end of capitalism, but that’s what you get from Wardrobe Crisis. Its presenter, the sustainable-fashion expert Clare Press, is suitably cross when talking about climate-crisis villains and extremely enthusiastic about innovative companies and individuals doing great work in the sector. It is in no way escapist, but it does provide hope, giving ideas for the ways we might build a more caring industry after the current crisis.”

The Evening Standard says:

“If you’re on a mission to educate yourself on fashion’s devastating impact on the environment, this award-winning podcast is the perfect place to start. Launched by Vogue’s first ever sustainability editor Clare Press in 2017 , Wardrobe Crisis profiles the industry innovators setting about to make a change from within, much like Press herself.”

FEEDSPOT'S NUMBER 1 SUSTAINABLE FASHION PODCAST AGAIN IN 2023!

In 2021, US Vogue chose Wardrobe Crisis for a second time as one of their “Best Fashion Podcasts To Listen To Right Now”, and Guardian UK picked Wardrobe Crisis as one of its “best podcasts for fashion fans.” In 2023, Bazaar UK selected Wardrobe Crisis as one of their “best female-led sustainability podcasts to download now.”

Euronews says:

“As you'd imagine with Press's impressive history in journalism, she has extensive knowledge of the industry that she uses to get the best out of her guests on their expert subjects. Expect subjects from cultural appropriation to the circular economy; it's definitely not a podcast that merely dips its toes in the water of positive fashion choices. Episodes will leave you keen to start googling and incensed at the injustices of the garment industry.”

Gotham Magazine says:

“Wardrobe Crisis is the hub for all things sustainability and ethical fashion. The podcast explores the role of fashion in climate change and highlights those who are doing the work.”
